The new building is located between the Grossmarkthalle and Sonnemannstrasse to link the immediate neighbourhood with the ECB’s premises. Although the north façade of the Grossmarkthalle will be shielded from the Sonnemannstrasse, the concept respects “history, existing culture and its collective memory”.
